Everyone knows email works, and almost nobody finishes the flows

Email is consistently the best-returning channel in ecommerce, and the standard state of it is a welcome flow with two emails, an abandoned cart that was set up at launch, and a campaign whenever somebody remembers.

The reason is not that owners undervalue it. It is that building and QAing email is fiddly, repetitive production work that always loses to whatever is on fire.

A dedicated assistant does the production. You keep the offer and the calendar; they build, test, schedule and report.

What they build

  • Campaign production — Emails built in your template from your brief, links checked, mobile previewed, scheduled and sent.
  • Automated flows — Welcome, abandoned cart and browse, post-purchase, win-back and replenishment flows built out fully with logic and timing.
  • Segmentation — Segments built and maintained on real behaviour, with suppression and engagement rules kept current.
  • A/B testing — Subject line and content tests set up properly, results recorded and applied rather than forgotten.
  • List hygiene — Unengaged contacts sunset, bounces cleaned, deliverability monitored.
  • SMS where you use it — Campaigns and flow steps built to the same standard, with consent handled correctly.
  • Reporting — Revenue per email, per flow and per segment — so decisions are made on numbers.

What stays with you

Production travels. Offers, brand and the send button can stay with you as long as you want them to.

  • Offers and discountingWhat you offer and what it costs you is a commercial decision.
  • Brand and claimsCopy is written to your brief; positioning and any product claim is approved by you.
  • Final send approvalKeep it if you want it. Many clients keep approval on campaigns and delegate flows once trust is established.
  • Consent and compliance settingsSpam Act obligations sit with you as the sender; they operate within the rules you set.

Questions

Frequently asked

Can they write the emails or do we?
Both models work. Most clients brief the offer and angle and let the assistant write to an established voice, reviewing before send. For brand-led stores, keep the copy and let them build and QA — the production is most of the hours either way.
Will they touch our deliverability?
They monitor it and maintain list hygiene, which protects it. Domain authentication and sender configuration are worth setting up properly with you present, once, rather than delegating.
Is Klaviyo experience common?
Yes — it is one of the more common ecommerce skill sets in our pool, along with Mailchimp and ActiveCampaign. We verify it with the previous employer rather than trusting a certification.
How much does it cost?
From $14/hr + GST full-time — up to 70% less than a local hire, with no placement fee. Run your numbers →
Full-time, part-time or fewer hours?
Forty hours a week is our standard engagement and twenty is common. Below that we look at fifteen, ten or even five hours to get a role started, priced accordingly — a smaller engagement costs a little more per hour because the recruiting and management effort is the same. Plenty of clients begin at ten hours and grow the role once they see what comes off their desk.
Is there a minimum term?
Three months, then month to month. It's the same runway you'd give a new local hire to learn your systems, your clients and your standards — and the team members who get a fair run are the ones who stay for years. There are no exit penalties at any point, and if the issue is the person rather than the role, the first-week refund and free replacement cover that separately.
How do you handle confidentiality?
The same way you'd treat any remote team member. Every placement signs an NDA and a confidentiality clause before day one, and they work inside your systems — your email, your CRM, your file storage — so you control what they can see and can revoke access instantly. No client data is stored on our side.
