Venue social media dies of busyness

Hospitality social media has a recognisable failure pattern: three posts in a good week, then nothing for a fortnight because the venue was full. The specials that were worth promoting are over by the time anyone posts. Reviews accumulate unanswered.

Meanwhile discovery for a venue is almost entirely social and review-driven, so the neglect is expensive in a way that is hard to see directly.

A dedicated assistant makes it continuous. You supply photos and what is on; they produce, schedule, respond and keep every listing correct.

What they produce and manage

  • Content production — Posts and stories built from your photos and video, edited to your look, captioned in your voice.
  • Scheduling — A consistent calendar planned ahead, with specials and events posted while they are still relevant.
  • Community management — Comments and DMs answered, booking questions routed, and enquiries not left sitting for days.
  • Review responses — Every review across Google, Facebook and the booking platforms answered, with problems routed to management.
  • Listing accuracy — Hours, menus, photos, holiday trading and contact details correct on Google, Maps and every booking platform.
  • Local partnerships and tagging — Suppliers, neighbours and local accounts engaged so the venue appears in more feeds than its own.
  • Reporting — Reach, engagement and enquiries from social — monthly, so the effort is measurable.

What stays with you

Production and routine response travel. Brand decisions and anything sensitive do not.

  • Brand and offer decisionsWhat you promote and how you position it is yours.
  • Serious complaintsA review alleging illness, injury or discrimination is escalated immediately, never answered off-script.
  • Paid spendBuilding an ad is not authorising a budget.
  • Photography on siteThey edit and produce from what you supply; someone at the venue takes the photos.

Questions

Frequently asked

Who takes the photos?
Someone at the venue — and this is the one thing that cannot be delegated offshore. The workable pattern is a weekly batch: someone shoots plates, specials and the room on their phone into a shared folder, and the assistant produces from it for the following fortnight.
Can they write in our voice?
With three or four examples you like and a short guide, yes. Hospitality captions are patterned enough that voice transfers quickly. Review the first fortnight closely, then spot-check.
What about responding to a bad review?
Routine dissatisfaction gets a warm, non-defensive response from your template. Anything alleging illness, injury or discrimination comes straight to you — that is a written rule, not a judgement call.
How much does it cost?
From $14/hr + GST full-time — up to 70% less than a local hire, with no placement fee. Run your numbers →
Full-time, part-time or fewer hours?
Forty hours a week is our standard engagement and twenty is common. Below that we look at fifteen, ten or even five hours to get a role started, priced accordingly — a smaller engagement costs a little more per hour because the recruiting and management effort is the same. Plenty of clients begin at ten hours and grow the role once they see what comes off their desk.
Is there a minimum term?
Three months, then month to month. It's the same runway you'd give a new local hire to learn your systems, your clients and your standards — and the team members who get a fair run are the ones who stay for years. There are no exit penalties at any point, and if the issue is the person rather than the role, the first-week refund and free replacement cover that separately.
How do you handle confidentiality?
The same way you'd treat any remote team member. Every placement signs an NDA and a confidentiality clause before day one, and they work inside your systems — your email, your CRM, your file storage — so you control what they can see and can revoke access instantly. No client data is stored on our side.
